‘Heronie’ to have a different heroine?

Madhur Bhandarkar is all upset with Kareena!! Yeah he was planning to start his movie Heroine after her current flick “Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji” early next month. But now Bebo seems to be more interested in Karan Johar’s production “Short Term Shadhi” which is going to be directed by debutant Shakun Batra. If rumors are to be believed, Kareena has told Bhandarkar that she could only work on his movie after KJo’s movie by March next year.

It is still not clear if the award winning director is going to wait for Bebo’s dates or if he is going to change the heroine of “Heroine”

Genelia to play heroine in Kakha Kakha remake

Genelia has been roped in to act opposite John Abraham in the hindi remake of Kakha Kakha. Initially Asin was to play this role. It is in fact a surprise as to why this change has been made.

Deepika opens up on why it didn’t work with Ranbir

The Deepika-Ranbir chapter has loong been over, but nobody seems to be ready to rest it in the graves. Both of them have moved on and found themselves some one else, but still Deepika couldn’t help dropping sublime hints in her recent interview to a tabloid. She has said

“When I am in a relationship, I give it my all. I am totally committed and devoted. I am more giving, maybe because I am a Capricorn. I don’t expect the same back but somehow in all my relationships, it has been the guy who has strayed. You can ignore something if it happens once, but if it keeps happening, you have to realise that something is wrong”

It is interesting that she used “Strayed”.. this makes one wonder if it was Ranbir’s growing fondness of Katrina. But Deepika is now happy with Sidharth Mallaya and wants to keep her personal life personal this time unlike the last relationship.

Bebo tried the size zero look which Saif had aptly commented to look like a hanger. Now she is all set to go size minus!! yeah.. this is going to be for her new KJo movie in which she stars against Imran Khan. Karan has said that Kareena is going to be seen in chaddis (shorts) in this movie which is named “Short Term Shaadi” whatever that means :P

“She has to sport a short haircut and I also want her to try and get herself into a size minus (not a size zero) because she has to match Imran Khan perfectly for my film tentatively titled Short Term Shaadi,”

says Karan. Bebo will start stressing her out for this look once she is back from shooting for Agent Vinod in Latvia.

Ironically Bebo wanted to get her scintillating curves back as Saif is not at all happy about Size 0

New ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ poster

The first poster for the movie “Anjaana Anjaani” received a lot of negative comments as it looked just like the English Flick “An Education” and “A Walk in the cloud” poster. The director Siddharth Anand is totally frustrated and says that the pose was a classic one and hence was used in many places. But since the poster didn’t create the impression it ought to have done, it has now been redesigned and the new poster is out. The new poster has Ranbir and Priyanka Chopra looking at each other and smiling unlike the first one in which they were staring seriously at the camera. Copying movies is one thing, but copying ideas for the poster?? seriously come on!!

Priyanka replaces Madhuri for the coveted role of Indira Gandhi

Filmmaker Krishna Shah has roped in Priyanka to play the role of Indira Gandhi in his next movie ‘Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story”. This is going to be a big budget biographic movie to be made in two parts. Jenny Shircore, the academey award winning make-up artist is the casting director. Jenny feels that Priyanka’s face would closely match Indira Gandhi’s face after some prosthetic work. Shah has said in a statement that

“Yes, I am in conversation with Jenny who thinks that Priyanka is the one who can fit in the character of Indira, but it will be too premature to talk about casting as we have not approached anybody as yet”

Albert Finney, Emily Watson, Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones are the other famous actors who have been contacted for portraying various other characters in the movie. Shah has put in a lot of research for his script and has changed it several times. He has said

“The script has been reworked after I got my hands on Richard Nixon’s personal tapes related to the 1971 Bangladesh War. My research has changed the script a lot and now we are looking at casting an appropriate face for Indira Gandhi’s character”

Despite a lot of effort from mutual friends, the patch up between Ranbir and Deepika Padukone never happened. Now Deepika is seen with Sidharth Mallaya. An insider source said “Deepika flew to London after her Mauritius schedule for the F1 races and that is the time when Sidhartha joined her there. And after that, these two have been a couple.” And of late, these two are seen together in many places and they don’t bother to hide seeing together in front of the media. Recently they were seen together at the special screening of Peepli[Live].

Kajol who has just completed a Karan Johar flick “We are Family” is pregnant and expecting to add another member to her family by September. When asked if she was expecting a baby boy as it was natural to expect one after the first kid is a girl, she plainly declined that the baby’s gender is a priority. She said that she doesn’t feel a baby boy is necessary to complete the family.She said she and her sis Tanissha made a complete family by themselves. Adding more she said” I have a wonderful daughter(Nysa) and how can I say no to another girl justlike her?”

Kajol is expected to take a big break come September. She believes that a woman must have babies only when she can devote time for them. Kajol seems happy doing limited movies per year. She said “I just enjoy doing one or two films per year. d I do more films, people will get bored of me”

Endhiran Release Postponed

The much awaited movie of the year “Endhiran” was originally scheduled to be released on September 3.But to the disappointment of the millions of fans worldwide, it is now rumored that the release date is being postponed to September 24. The movie is a star studded one with Shankar as the director, Super Star Rajini as hero and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as heroine, A.R.Rahman as the music director. The budget for this flickis a whooping 200 crores. With this budget, Endhiran is the costliest Tamil film ever made.

The delay is due to the last minute patch works. A source was quoted saying “Endhiran has 1500 graphical shots – a record in Indian cinema. If a movie has heavy graphics works like this, obviously it would be delayed”

Endhiran is reported to be released in over 2000 screens worldwide. The music for the film has already been released and the music sales has surpassed all the previous records for a tamil album.

Peepli [Live] bags its first award at Durban

Aamir Khan’s home production Peepli[Live] has bagged its first award in the Best film category at the recently concluded 31st Durban International Film festival. The international jury has praised the film saying “Peepli Live is an ambitious and well-realised film that deals with serious political issues in a witty and entertaining manner. It creates an enchanting world of colourful characters, images and music that engrosses viewers throughout”. This film is about one of the most sensitive issue – the farmer’s suicide issue and the media and political response to the issue.

Aamir Khan was on cloud nine on hearing the news. He said “I think it’s really wonderful news that I got today. To get an award from such a distinguished jury leaves me very pleased for the team that we have won this honour”. Peepli[Live] will hit boxoffice on August 13.

Rahul Mahajan gets physical with wife Dimpy

Rahul Mahajan got married again to Dimpy Ganguly in the Reality TV show “Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge” in March this year. Dimpy left Rahul’s house on Thursday vowing never to return after what has been rumored to be a violent night. She ha bruises on her body and her left cheek was swollen and she also had a lump on her head. The fight ha started over a text message that Dimpy had received. Rahul was angry and asked about the sender for which Dimpy supposedly had ask him to sleep. He got violent and started thrashing Dimpy. Dimpy fled from the house at 4 in the morning with a friend’s help.
Rahul denies hitting his wife.
Whereas Dimpy said, “the problems started after I insisted on appearing for my second year exam. Rahul was not happy with my trips to Kolkata.”
She also said“When he got angry, he would also get physical. I had to call my mother-in-law once when a fight got out of hand. Rahul was angry that I had called his mother in the issue,” .
She also alleges that Rahul had once pointed a gun at her in one of their fights. “He is a nice guy, but when he goes off the lid, there is no telling what he would do.”
This is not the first time Rahul is accused of domestic violence. Media reports indicate that his separation from his first wife (commercial pilot Shweta Singh) was because he used to get physical with her too.

Housefull in a fix!

The Madras High court has granted a stay on the Bollywood Blockbuster Housefull following the plea by popular producer P L Thennappan. Thennappan claims that the film is based on the hit kamal hassan – prabhu deva starrer “Kadala Kadala” and that the rights for the movie has not been sold to anyone. He alleges that Housefull is based on Kadala Kadala. Not to demean the high court judgment or anything, but I think though there are few scenes lifted from the tamil flick, it also has its own other subplots as well – like Akshay being unlucky and stuff. Anyways, Housefull is not going to run houseful for few days now!!
